Today I googled “best books for midlife crisis.” The other day I referred to myself as half dead. I turn 40 in seven months.
Auditing my life is literally nothing new to me. It’s almost constant. I think it always has been. When I was a kid, it was empowering because I wanted to make sure I was growing up as I should but when you feel like you’re as grown as it gets? Also, that way of thinking is antithetical to me. I need to stay teachable if I wanna stay relevant. Still it’s hard to think of myself as getting better with age when I’m not making the most money I’ve ever made and my body feels the worst it ever has in many respects.
But really that’s it! Thems the extent of my most significant problems*. Draxx them sklounst. And in my light googling around the topic, the main theme as to a solution is to stay present which I full-heartedly agree is great advice. Even still, I struggle with it. I guess my hangup is knowing the difference between being present and being complacent.
Anyway, I was feeling myself here in this pastel getup. That’s absolutely worth noting because it’s a gift. Even if it’s a gift I get often enough. Still. Here we are in the present.
